That is a great quote, so honest. You are right, children are like cement and we need to see what kind of impression we left them with. I know that it is hard to behave in a well manner in front of children, but we need to have this in mind all the time. Hope to see you again on another classes.
So true and the simplicity of the quote makes me wonder why is it that we don't take this in consideration regarding all our behaviors and actions related to children. Children are the sum of all the adult influences in their life and it's time for all adults to take responsibility. Thank you so much Tara for sharing this and many of your other post, some in-which were from your personal experiences, all with the intent to assist us in learning. As always, much success to you:)
Thank you for all your input throughout the last 2 classes. I really appreciate you perspective and experience that you express in your blog and discussion posts.
Tara, I couldn't help but notice the spiritual context this quote takes on .Isaiah 64:8 "Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. "We are all being molded and carved into who we are in my belief system by a higher power, but I am not naïve to think people do not affect me. People in our lives can leave marks on us or chip parts of us away. As teachers we have to realize how much we are to the young children in our care and respect the responsibility we have to them!
